Prepare your mind, body and spirit. Plan and prepare for the upcoming journey. When you think of it as a whole program (the big picture) it gives you a better perspective. This Detox was developed to help enable you to shift on all levels. Mentally, Physically, Emotionally and Spiritually. Bring on the Shift! Everything we do is a learning experience. Try to keep it positive. If you falter or fail, don’t judge yourself. Simply view it as a stepping stone. You can always go back to the next step; even after exiting stage left. Just remember, you can go back to your habits after the detox; if you choose to. You will regain your free-will before you know it. Think of the big picture- Two weeks is a drop in the bucket of life… YOU GOT THIS.
Prepare your life and schedule. If you are like most people, you plan everything in advance. Plan the detox in advance just like anything else important. Please note, your eating and drinking habits can be hard to break. When we change our habits, we can tend to get moody, emotional, or irritable. When we are out of sorts, for any reason, the cravings drop in for a visit. Cravings are some of the hardest visitors to get rid of. They like to play mind tricks we can easily fall for. Therefore, remove all the things you will crave. Give them to your friends or neighbors… Just get them out of your house. Say Adios to those cravings.
Reduce your toxic load in your diet. Eliminate all processed foods, Wheat, Dairy, Meats, Sugar, Nuts, Fats, Sodium, Caffeine and Alcohol. Eat only fresh and whole. Stay away from fruit juice; eat the fruit whole with the fiber intact. If you are craving a fresh green juice. Try to make sure there is no more than one apple and also add chia seeds or flax seed meal to slow the absorption and insulin rush. For salads and steamed veggies- Only use lemon juice, Flaxseed oil or
Vegan No-Salt seasoning. You can always add fresh minced ginger, garlic, onions and any other herb for flavor. Please remember, the only oil you can consume on the Detox is flaxseed oil. Reduce your exposure to toxins in your environment. You are around toxins all day; most times completely unaware of it. Fluoride toothpaste, mattress with fire retardant, cosmetics, beauty products, body products, aluminum or Teflon pans, chlorine in tap water and pools, dry-cleaning chemicals, household cleaning supplies, garden and lawn chemicals, car exhaust… The list goes on. Start removing them where you can. One by one they all add up.
SET YOUR INTENTIONS. Write at the beginning of your journal what your intentions are. Bookmark it so you can go back and read it daily. When you feel weak, irritable or even happy, read your intentions to super-charge you and keep you on track. Be mindful. We are more than what we eat, we are what we think and say. Therefore, become very aware of the
thoughts you keep. Even if words didn’t actually get released into the air (past your lips) they were still spoken… in thought. Just a thought, any simple thought, positive or negative can change the way your body responds and heals. Also, if you don’t have enough oxygen in our body, we become reactionary instead of “listen-ary.” Therefore, when we have oxygen and we are balanced, we interact with others better. When balanced, we see past the statement and realize (most of the time) the statement had nothing to do with what we said or did. It came from the “offenders” baggage. So BREATHE DEEP, forgive and move on.
Drink lots of water! Many of the herbs you are consuming have a job to do. Remove toxins, clean your blood, kill parasites and fungus, detox organs and rebuild tissue; to name a few. Therefore, it is imperative that you consume at least a half gallon of water a day. The water helps your body eliminate the toxins. IF YOU DON’T DRINK WATER YOU CAN GET SICK OR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE. You can get dehydrated by these herbs doing their job; then the body will slow its elimination down keeping the toxins available to be reabsorbed… making you sick. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER and make a point of it! Have a big water bottle at work and one at home. Refill and consume. Try to remember, when random feelings and thoughts arise… Breath in the good energy and out the old. What goes in must also come out. That includes visual and verbal traumas not just the poisons and toxins you ingested. Therefore, be aware of emotions and feeling that may roll-in at odd moments. Write about it in your journal and meditate on it for clarity.
REMEMBER THIS IS A COMMITMENT… You are committed to your future self, to your health and your wellbeing.
